Sztynort 1935, VR film (2019, 76′)PL

Sztynort 1935 is a full feature VR film based on the play by J. Maiński. It was shot in the palace of Sztynort in 2019 with a cast of professional and lay actors from Poland and Germany.  The director of the film, Jakub Maiński, is a powerful emerging voice of Polish VR cinema.

September 3, 1935. Palace in Sztynort, owned by the von Esti family. In two weeks’ time, racial laws are to be issued in Nuremberg. During a dinner of poetry, music and philosophy, a group of related aristocrats discusses the possible effects of the new legislation.

With its state-of-the-art VR technology, the movie invites its viewers to attend, at utmost proximity, a moving debate about bio-politics, power, evolutions, and the human desire to love.

The film was produced as part of Stn:ort Pałac Festiwal 2019 and generously supported by KingCross/ Nowy Sztynort, Lehndorff-Gesellschaft Steinort e.V.  and Stiftung für Deutsch-polnische Zusammenarbeit/ Fundacja współpracy polsko-niemieckiej.
